Our Philosophy

We seek to understand not just the surface symptoms of the disordered communication, but the underlying why you are seeking services. What is important for you to get out of each session and therapy? Our goal is to understand the true impact of the communication impairment on your quality of life because, after all, quality of life is the goal.  We want to know what symptoms bother you no matter what overt symptoms are apparent to us. We will always strive to find what approach resonates with you in therapy as no two clients are alike!

Understanding the Why

Personalized Care

We take a highly individualized approach to treatment and establish a foundation of trust, mutual respect, and collaboration. You are a person, not your disorder. We conduct treatment sessions with you, your goals, and personality in mind. We will incorporate you into every aspect of the treatment process. We see therapy as an entirely two-way street.

Evidenced-based Therapy

We provide the highest quality treatment to all of our patients, and remain well-versed in the most recent evidenced based research and treatment trends, through ongoing research, collaborating with the top professionals in the field, and through continuing to stay abreast of recent treatment updates. Every treatment session and approach is structured on the most current research and proven methods backed by research. We never make false or exaggerated claims and lay out reasonable expectations for treatment.

Functional & Translatable Therapy

All therapy provided is extremely relevant to real life with direct translation and generalization (i.e. the goal is to improve voice or speech in conversation we will work IN conversation) starting from the very first session. We'll connect the dots from structured practice of sounds to real contexts like phones, presentations, social conversational skills.

Client and Caregiver Support

We conduct therapy on the values of people first, equal partnership of client and clinician, trust, open communication and unwavering support. We provide support to both clients and caregivers/family members through counseling, extensive time, personalized sessions and availability for communication both in and out of the sessions as needed. We will also provide resources to those that support the client, such as ways to support communication at home, educational materials for family members, who are often a key part of the client's growth process.
